Decoda

Decoda site The Decoda web site is a real class-act. An envelope pusher in some regards, trying to ride the dangerously thin edge between design and accessible usability. Since this site passed our criteria and is now being listed here as an award winner, there was obviously a measure of success in the endeavor. But it was a tough call, and the design came at the expense of other site aspects. The subjective aspect of the design grade alone played a big role, but here it is and that alone speaks volumes.

Public Thanks: Part II

Thanks We get by with a little help from our friends! This is how we feel right now. Thus we felt it was high time for another round of thanks. Sure we get some people who can do nothing more than to write to complain, to shed focus on some minute flaw and tell us how we blew it. But those folks are few and far between. Others — most — have been very supportive. We’re glad because we don’t get paid and this project has proven to be a major undertaking. Each award given represents roughly 8 to 12 man-hours of hard work!

Webecho Designs

Webecho Designs site The Webecho Designs site is another good example of a website sporting great colors and a simple theme. There’s not much in the way of the message the site delivers. To us it was instantly likable. This is the developer’s second site entry and it is obvious that the many of first entry’s shortcomings were addressed in this design. We like to see this. Better yet, so do the people who may need some of this site’s features.
