McCoy

ECG Training site The McCoy site is attractive and stylish. It’s also nicely implemented and presented in a usable, logical manner. Most of the pluses go towards design — the semantic use of elements could be improved. As always the graders noted some issues that could be and should be addressed if not done already. This site was a challenge to us as it was redesigned a couple of times during the grading process (and hopefully the observations stated herein are still relevant). But as much of a challenge as it was to us, it must have been equally challenging or more so to the maker due to certain circumstances that we can’t go into. All in all we have to say it’s a pretty nice site that the maker can be proud of.

ECG Training site The ECG Training site will probably fulfill its purpose in that it’s a “simple” site — both graders noted that — but very impressive in its down-to-business appeal. The site was conscientiously and solidly built, with a decent level of attention to the details, especially accessibility. We liked that. A few misses were noted, but not much that couldn’t be easily addressed with just a little bit of work. There’s nothing seriously wrong with it in other words. All-in-all, it’s good, solid design.

GeekMinistry

Posted January 5th, 2007 by Mike Cherim

GeekMinistry site The GeekMinistry site is a nice stylish site with a real retro groove about it. Swirly and funky; hip and cool. In addition to visual styles, we liked some of the security features as they didn’t diminish the site’s functionality. Over all it’s a pretty solid site. We did note a few things that could have been done better, though. As one example, there is text on the footer that screams “click me, I’m a link” but this text is in fact just text. There are a few other small things we’d like to see done better being that the site was made by a standards-savvy developer. That said, though, it’s a good design that should serve its purpose rather well and be accessible to the vast majority of its visitors.
