The Philippine Web Accessibility Group site proves to be a solidly built and easily navigable site. Great attention has been paid to making the site accessible with clean markup, a breadcrumb trail and extended image descriptions. However, some areas fell short of best practice, including poorly chosen alternative text, badly styled links and no custom error pages.
With the great effort that’s gone into delivering an accessible site it looks like the design has suffered as a consequence. There’s some nice touches, like a smart logo and the bold contrasting colours of black and gold but overall the aesthetics are a little drab; those blue links on grey background just don’t work.
The Philippine Web Accessibility Group website was crafted by Jojo I. Esposa Jr and following review was deemed eligible for an Award Level of: “Notable Universal Design Award [!].” Congratulations Jojo!
