Arielle B Cruz
The Arielle B. Cruz site is solidly built in terms of clean/well structured markup, strong semantics, accessibility enhancements and a clear purpose as to what the site has to offer. In addition, it has some effective JavaScript handling that takes enabling and disabling into account as well as a graceful way of displaying regardless of how the site is being viewed.
One of the major issues with the site is the contact form. It was unfortunate that both an erroneous and a successful submission resulted in a 404 page. Speaking of the 404 page, there could have been more attention to the design of this particular page to better match the look and feel of the rest of the site.
There are also issues with the intuitiveness of the main navigation. It is clear that navigational functionality is present, but there can be improvement in communicating the purpose of each item. It shouldn’t be reliant solely on a mouse over or focus.
The Arielle B. Cruz site was designed by A.B. Cruz. After a detailed review and much discussion, the site has been deemed eligible for an Award Level of: “Notable Universal Design.” Congratulations Arielle!

Hello Mike,
Thank you and the rest of Team Access! I’m now digesting the issue that is mentioned regarding the contact form, error page and general navigation. I am a bit confused about “issues with the intuitiveness of the main navigation” and what “improvement in communicating the purpose of each item” mean exactly. I’m really looking towards improvement.
Of course, I’m very happy that my site qualified for a Notable Award. This really made my day and inspires me as I am working on something else. Thanks again.
I didn’t design the Applaud Web Solutions site though.
Cheers!
Arielle

Do’h… so sorry. I can’t believe none of us caught that. All fixed now.
Hopefully the notes we will send will prove helpful.

I just got the notes (many thanks!) and have read through them. They’re very insightful and I fully appreciate everyone’s taking time to discuss the highs and lows of the site. I will ponder on those discussions deeply because I’ll be gunning for greater improvement next year. And I’m confident I can achieve that. Have a great, great weekend! =)
Thanks Inez. Woot woot woot! =*

Wow! Arielle, congrats from your Philippine Web Accessibility Group buddies. We are truly very proud of you. This is again a proudly Filipino made that has met the high quality, very rigid standards and scrutiny from a respected international web design group such as Accessites.org. I have posted a congratulatory message in our egroup. By the way, when will you come back and post messages to our yahoogroup? We truly miss you and many activities and issues happened when you were gone. Miss ka na namin. Balik ka na ulit, pareng Arielle!
