Visit the Global Issues site The Global Issues site offers tremendous user support and a remarkable attentiveness to semantic detail. The structure of this site is, overall, well-defined and clear. Visitor support includes optional text preferences, instruction in how to best use their browser via text resizing or alternative navigation, and an excellent 404 error which suggests the most probable pages you might have been trying to find.

Visit Regelingenbank Stadskanaal The Regelingenbank Stadskanaal site sports a liquid layout, a clean, intuitive interface and plenty of navigation options and fallbacks are provided. Serious attention has been paid to accessibility features and it is in this area the site excels. When providing so many accessibility features, it’s not always easy to fit them into the site design but it’s been done neatly and judiciously. The site doesn’t face many challenges in terms of delivering rich media but what it does deliver, it delivers in a rock solid way.

SnowDog

SnowDog site Kuba Zwolinski’s SnowDog web site is an excellent example of a meld of unique design and standards-based web accessibility. The aged-paper and tape motif is elegantly put together, resizes well, and just plain looks great. From an accessibility perspective, Kuba has clearly put some thought into the site’s underpinnings. The site is easy to navigate by keyboard, since links have strong :focus states and are well-organized. The site also makes use of a script to allow users to set their own access keys, which is a great way to offer custom keyboard shortcuts.

Due Chiacchiere

Due Chiacchiere site The Due Chiacchier site has improved significantly since it failed to make our submission queue some time back. The comments we had then have been taken onboard and the site’s overall accessibility has really been enhanced as a result. The more sharp-eyed amongst you may notice that the site has the occasional validation error due to the presence of embed. However, given Internet Explorer’s reported unreliability with object and taking into account feedback from disabled user testing groups, we decided that embed is still the most reliable and accessible approach in this situation and accepted the validation error as a reasonable trade-off.
